Cross hatching without an instrument is tedious and slow, and it is
therefore uneconomical and often unsatisfactory.
With the HAFF Cross Hatching Machine 705 or 706, however, this work can
be done quickly and accurately. The simple but neat design with its
smooth and practical form permits continuous work and has many
applications.
Operation of the 705 and 706:
Two feet carry the guide bar. The feet are fitted with
retractable needles which hold the instrument even on a steeply inclined
drawing board. With the needles fully retracted the rubber soled feet
can be placed on a drawing without fear of damage
The plexiglas ruler has a special inking edge and is replaceable. It can
be set at any angle from 0° to 90° degrees above or below the
perpendicular to the guide bar. The clamp also permits the use of other
drawing edges - curves or templates, or metal rulers for geodetic work. The
line spacing can be set to any measurement from
0 - 5 mm by means of the adjusting screw. The plexiglas ruler moves down
the guide bar by pressing on the button.
